Q: Can I get a home loan if I had a bankrupcy?
A: Yes. In general, a bankrupcy must be discharged for 2 years and you must have re-established credit such as credit cards, car loans, rent, etc.. with timely payments- no late pays. Chapter 13 requires letter from trustee stating that you have made 12 on-time payments and permission from court to purchase home.
Q: What if there is an error in my credit report?
A: If you find any inaccuracies in your credit report, the Fair Credit Report Act, gives you the right to dispute these items in question. Our merged reports contain forms you can fill in and mail directly to the appropriate bureau. By law the credit bureau has thirty (30) days to either confirm or delete the item in question.
